Over the River and Through the Woods

We got to play Grandpa’s last week. Chris and the kids came up for a visit. Andrea’s in school and needed a well deserved break. We don’t see them very often and kind of fall out of practice between visits. Our house is so low energy and low volume normally. Add kids and stir. Little miss Vivian is the most girlie girl I have ever seen. She dresses her self in dresses mostly and lots of color and sparkle. She has always been very strong willed. I think she’s actually mellowing with age. She is just a kick to be around. Oscar is very agreeable and sweet. He’s all boy. He’s one of those kids that would stick a bucket over his head and then ram things. He loves to snuggle and is very patient. It’s fun to watch my son be a good father. He’s very playful, but at the same time , he’s consistent and fair. The kids are very polite(which goes a long way with me) but we had to shift our normally very spicy food into kids stuff. Macaroni and cheese is of course a favorite.

Their Dad took them to the River and paddled around in boats. They went to the spooky forest. They went to the Candy Store, and I even went with them to San Francisco. We took the Ferry from Sausalito.

Great times, great kids, great Dad. Thanks Chris.

Your grandkids look like they are at the ages where it’s just so much fun to sit and absorb all the cuteness they exude. Awesome that you could all get together for a little while.

Looks like a great time was had by all… except Oscar on the ferry. What was their favorite thing to do on the visit?
It really does warm your heart as a parent to see your kids being such great parents to their kids. I’m very lucky that way. Sounds like you are too.

They had a lot of favorite things. Vivi liked looking for treasure under the cave tunnels we made with sheets over the furniture.

How fun! Kids visits with their grandparents always provide for good memories.
Glad you took some pictures for your blog. They’re beautiful kids!

What fun! And so many fun things to do around where you live. Kids sure do make a house more lively, though. It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve seen Chris, and I’ve never met his kids! I’m glad you posted some pictures.

The bottom photo shows two kids watching something rather intently… and dad maybe dozing off? By chance, was it Spongebob? My god, they all worship that show…

I totally remember taking that photo. It was Spongebob, lol.
The one I thought was even more annoying is Little Einsteins. What ever happened to Sesame Street?

Yeah, my grandson doesn’t even know what Sesame Street is. The other day I asked him if he liked Oscar the Grouch, and his face was blank… But he knows the dialogue to entire episodes of Spongebod. I have come to like Spongebob. I like Patrick the best.. LOL..

Ooh, I love the idea of looking for treasure under sheet tunnels! Did they find anything? Any gold coins?
Cute kids

It was a silver dollar that turned into a magic penny that made people freeze. It got old real fast for every one but Vivi.
