Lost Wages

Craig and I live a comfortable life but it’s very modest. Big ticket items are not on our priority list, well, except my car. To a lot of people my car is modest even though I think it’s an extravagance. We cut back on building materials for the house. We tore down the old, big deck and are building a much smaller one. I transplant flora from work rather than buy any, and we both wear clothes until they’re rags but one thing we don’t scrimp on is vacation.
We love 5 star hotels. There is nothing like paying people to treat you like royalty. Park my car, get my bags, and I’ll take the turn down service please. Last year we stayed at the Aria hotel in Las Vagas for a couple of nights before going to a family get together at Fish Lake, Utah. It was lovely.
A couple of years ago we stayed in a suite at the Bellagio. We loved the dancing fountain. Every half hour it was a new song with new fountain choreography viewed from our floor to ceiling windows. We loved the great room service and the even greater marble steam shower. Tomorrow morning we’re heading out for the family get together but this year we’re spending three nights at a Bellagio penthouse. Peel me a grape.
Enjoy the fountain.

I’ve stayed at a 5 star a couple of times in my life and there really is nothing like the experience. The only thing that would make it better is if someone else pays for it
So, besides the beautiful fountain – what’s your favorite thing in your room/hotel this trip?
Have fun!

The Penthouse is bigger than our house and is stuffed with marble and mohair. What’s not to love. The biggest thing for me is service. We checked in at the executive lounge. No lines and there were pastries and hot and cold beverages. Free Hotel limo service, free WiFi, and we had a card that allowed us to butt in front of any line be it restaurant or cashier. We don’t use that perk. The crazy thing is that normaly in a strong economy our Penthouse would have set us back well over $1000.00 a night. Because things are tight we got the suite for less than half and still had all the perks.

Wow, nice place! They even have toilets that wash you?! How cool is that! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a 5-star hotel, but I’ve stayed in some very nice places that could have been 5 star.
I like it when everything is included (like cruise ships), but when it’s not, and I have to pay 2-3 times more than normal for everything, it’s difficult for me to enjoy myself because I feel like I’m getting ripped off at every turn. (Like at Disney World). Something I’d like to learn to get over, but it’s been hard.

Sounds like a really nice place and a really nice experience.
What a great deal!
