life choreographed

My friend Vern is always coming up with all kinds of new pictures and videos and comic relief but this one really hit the spot. From very early on music has helped me through some tough times in my life. Music can totally change my mood. I love musicals and Opera and Symphony, and believe it or not Rap. I love it all. I can’t imagine how horrible it would be to be deaf. Allison and my brother Joseph would make me tapes of some of their favorite tunes and send them to me when I was going through some tough times when I lived in San Francisco. It kept me sane.
That being said I have always thought of how wonderful life would be if it were choreographed. Wouldn’t it be great if you happened to be at the salvation army when the whole chapel broke into “Sit Down you’re Rockin the Boat”? Maybe you’re in an old London bar and every one breaks into Oompah Pah. Or lets say you decide to be a chimney sweep and you are lucky enough to end up on the dancing crew that does “Step in Time“.
I do sing at work and sometimes even dance a little. Why don’t people join in? I don’t get it. It works on “Xanadu”.
I know flash mobs are getting a little passe but I still think they’re great.
So… on to the video. Hope you enjoy and Thanks again Vern.

I’ve often wished that an invisible orchestra would follow me around – just waiting to accompany me when I break into song. Which I often do. Probably one of the reasons we get along so well Paul
I love flash mobs too. I’d love to be in one.

Here’s hoping that all our lives are choreographed the way we envision them the rest of our time…
I will say that I could not have written mine better the last 16 years than what I’ve lived.

I love this. I think flash mobs are SUCH a fun idea. I would totally do one. And yes, like my mother, and like you, I break out into song on occasion, whenever I feel like it.
And I also use music to enhance (or change) whatever mood I’m in. I love music… I don’t know how I’d get through life without it
Thanks for sharing this!

I loved this! There is a Family Guy episode where Peter gets a soundtrack for his life. It cracks me up.
Music has been a big part of our life. My favorite memory of Mom is her whistling in the kitchen. I always felt peace when I heard her whistle.

So, I am perusing the internet and click on this blog site. I check it from time to time because I like to read your perspective on life. I see my name. (boy I sure hope you are referring to me) I thank you Paul for the compliment. This video pulls me out of a down day and makes me happy. Music is a refuge for me also. All the love I have for music is because of your family, Paul. Whenever I hear a song that we used to sing in Concert Choir, musicals and Madrigals, I still sing (badly) the part.
So you should take all the credit for liking this video. All I want to do is introduce everyone I know to what I think is some of the greatest music in the world.
I thank you and Craig for letting me be part of your blog.
Hope your Christmas and New Years was great.

Thanks for the happy thoughts. It was amazing to read your comments and view the video 4 days after the reception for Tanner and Andrea (Deb’s youngest son). Andrea and her 9 siblings performed a flash mob during the evening and it was almost as well choreographed as the one in the video. We are still smiling and remembering the joy of the dance they performed as a family. It brought a palpable feeling of happiness and lightness to the whole group of family and friends in attendance.
Thanks for being in touch with the good things in life and sharing them with us.

What a great video and pick-me-up. Thank you for sharing.
I also love music. I greatly appreciate and am in awe of people who make it. Life just isn’t the same without lots of fitting music to accompany it. I’m the happiest listening to music when I’m fully interacting with it in some way, like singing and dancing along.

So fun! Newer movies like Enchanted and The Muppets also make me wish we could all just break out in song together. Music has amazing power to change my mood. I love to sing, and to do it loudly. Today I cheered my kids up in the car by making up a song about them with some ridiculous words. They loved it. And it was fun for me too. Thanks for sharing this fun video.
